ここは都会から遠く離れた山奥にある寒村、雛見沢村。
人口2千に満たないこの村で、それは毎年起こる。

This June, when the heat hit earlier than usual, we were entertained by cicadas during the day and choruses of higurashi at dusk.
This is Hinamizawa Village, a cold village deep in the mountains far from the city.
It happens every year in this village of less than 2,000 people.– Hinamizawa Village Mysterious Death Incident —
On a fixed day every June, one person dies and another person disappears.
A chain of deaths ensues from the struggle over a giant dam project.
A hidden mysterious incident, a repeated tragedy.
Is it a conspiracy? Is it a coincidence? Or…is it a curse?
The person who was supposed to be there is not there.
There are people who are not supposed to be there.
The person I met last night is not alive.
And the people we have now are no longer alive.
Is tragedy inevitable? Is there no choice but to give in?
